TechnologyOne transitions La Trobe University to Student Management on the cloud: An Australian first

TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE), Australia’s largest enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) provider, has successfully transitioned La Trobe University to the cloud - the first Student Management cloud go live in the southern hemisphere.

La Trobe University’s Acting Chief Information Officer, Mr Stuart Hildyard, says the move to cloud has enabled the university to position itself as an industry leader.

“Moving TechnologyOne’s solution to SaaS has enabled us to roll out new functionality that supports our business, rather than being focused on the technology. We now deliver a cloud-first, mobile-first experience,” Mr Hildyard said.

“Implementing TechnologyOne’s Student Management SaaS solution has provided a unique opportunity for us to leapfrog the industry and end up with a sophisticated solution - one that has all the modules - rather than play a slow catch up,” he said.

La Trobe University moved to a SaaS solution for Student Management to reduce its IT footprint, enable scalability, receive automatic software updates and provide students and staff with a flexible, highly available platform.

TechnologyOne’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Edward Chung, says TechnologyOne’s SaaS offering allows our customers to focus on the application of technology, rather than the implementation of it.

"La Trobe University no longer has to worry about running or updating its software and infrastructure - we will take care of all of that for them. The university can reap the benefits of our multi-million-dollar investment into our SaaS offering,” Mr Chung said.

“By removing the burden of managing its computing environment, La Trobe University can focus on its business, rather than the supporting technology," he said.

"With highly available infrastructure that has redundancy built in at every level, our enterprise SaaS delivers software in a high performing, reliable and secure manner.

“Our strength lies in our vertical SaaS offering: We can apply specialist expertise to our solution, ensuring our customers capitalise on our deep industry knowledge,” Mr Chung said.
