TechnologyOne partners with 14 Queensland councils to develop software solution for legislative change
Leading enterprise software provider TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE) has worked with 14 Queensland councils to proactively deliver a solution to support new legislative requirements, on time and on budget.
The new council Planning Act (PAct), which came into effect 3 July 2017, brought with it a new regulatory planning framework for Queensland which would impact how Queensland councils reported against what development can occur in an area.
TechnologyOne foresaw the impact the new planning legislation would have on Property and Rating customers in Queensland and from November 2016 initiated a series of workshops and user groups to develop a solution that all councils could agree on.
TechnologyOne Property and Rating Ci, Solutions and Consulting teams received recognition for the successful design, development and rollout of the large project for QLD councils.
Mr Justin Thomas, ICT Manager at Noosa Shire Council, one of the councils involved in the project, says he was ‘amazed’ at how TechnologyOne worked with the councils to bring the project together.
“In my 28 years in Local Government that cooperation very rarely happens,” Mr Thomas said.
TechnologyOne’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Edward Chung, says the project is an example of what effective collaboration can achieve.
“This project exemplifies collaboration at its best. We were able to pull together a complex solution on time and on budget,” Mr Chung said.
The solution enables councils to commence processing applications under the new framework and benefit from standardised reporting. Councils have the option to extend the baseline configuration to suit accordingly, enabling flexibility to adapt to future change.
