TechnologyOne closes stellar year in local government
TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE) has come out of 2015 as the leading provider of enterprise software for local government, adding a number of major councils to its roster in 2015 and significantly strengthening its local government solutions.
New customers included Wellington City Council and Australia’s largest council, Brisbane City Council; both of which signed up for its Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.
“Over 70 per cent of the 100 largest councils across Australia and New Zealand now partner with TechnologyOne,” said TechnologyOne’s Executive Chairman, Adrian Di Marco.
“Working with more than 300 councils globally, we have a deep understanding of the local government sector and are continually investing in our solutions to meet their complex requirements today and into the future.
“All our major new local government customers this year were SaaS deals, signifying that customers are embracing our vision for cloud and mobile.
“Our enterprise software as a service is the premier enterprise cloud offering in Australia and New Zealand, and we are the only provider offering a fully configurable solution.”
The software provider also completed milestone go lives with its preconfigured OneCouncil solution at Shire of Campaspe, Baw Baw Council and Toowoomba Council, with the templated approach ensuring they came in on time and on budget.
"Our integrated OneCouncil solution is built specifically for local governments, and significantly reduces the time, cost and risks associated with large scale enterprise-wide software implementations,” Mr Di Marco said.
“Our focus is to ensure we are delivering real value to our customers by implementing our industry solutions faster, with lower cost and lower risk.”
The software provider broadened the strength of its local government offering this year through acquisitions of industry specialists ICON Software, Digital Mapping Solutions and Jeff Roorda & Associates.
“The acquisitions put our enterprise solution far ahead of the market, making us the only enterprise solution provider with the depth and breadth that we offer,” Mr Di Marco said.
“TechnologyOne is not an acquisition driven business, preferring organic growth because of the significant cost, time, effort and management distraction that accompanies an acquisition.
“Having said this, there are times when acquisitions make sense, such as when the opportunity arises to acquire Intellectual Property (IP) that allows us to extend our enterprise footprint into new areas that we do not currently support, and which would take an inordinate amount of time, money and risk for us to develop ourselves.
“This is the case with these three acquisitions. These organisations are well regarded in their markets, and TechnologyOne has partnered with them over many years.
“These acquisitions have enabled us to improve upon our existing offering, supporting our vision of delivering enterprise software that is incredibly easy to use and that meets the needs of our local government customers.
“Our plan is over the next 24 months to redevelop these products on our powerful Ci Anywhere platform, and to deeply integrate them into our enterprise suite. They will also form a strategic component of our TechnologyOne Cloud offering.”
With the software provider cementing its leading position in Australia in 2015, it has now set its sights on growing its overseas markets.
“We have built a global software platform that positions us well for growth, and are investing significantly in overseas markets as we continue to broaden our offshore strategy,” Mr Di Marco said.
