TechnologyOne Appoints Tanzer to Lead Growth in Higher Education Sector

Technology One Limited (ASX: TNE), a leading Australian provider of enterprise business software solutions, has appointed Steve Tanzer as General Manager - Student Management.

Mr Tanzer comes to TechnologyOne with a long history of working both in and with the higher education sector throughout Australia, and has proven management and software implementation experience.

Before joining TechnologyOne, Mr Tanzer was General Manager at the University of Southern Queensland for more than 10 years.  As part of his responsibilities within this role, he oversaw the implementation of their new student management, financial, and human resources and payroll systems.

As General Manager - Student Management, Mr Tanzer will be responsible for enhancing service delivery and the ongoing research and development necessary to ensure that the Student Management solution continues to meet the changing needs of the Higher Education sector.

“We’ve been working hard to finalise the migration of the solution to the new technology platform, Connected Intelligence, and now that this is complete, we’re expecting to significantly increase our presence in this market, both in Australia and overseas,” said Mr Tanzer

“The fact that TechnologyOne has delivered a new generation application in the Connected Intelligence (Ci) platform is truly unique in the education sector.  No one else has managed to do it, yet we’ve migrated customers onto it.”

“This means that our customers are a step ahead of everyone else, and because we invest heavily in R&D to ensure our products stay at the forefront of technology, our offering to the education sector will continue to lead the way.”

TechnologyOne already provides software to fifty per cent of the universities throughout Australia and New Zealand, including organisations such as the University of Melbourne, Queensland University of Technology, Macquarie University and the University of Technology Sydney.

Mr Tanzer believes that it is possible to expand on the success of the Student Management solution and broaden the scope within which TechnologyOne operates.

“I’ve worked with a wide range of organisations and institutions over the last 10 years and have worked on the implementation of other student management systems by multinational providers,” said Mr Tanzer.

“I can honestly say that TechnologyOne has the most compelling software vision for the education sector that I’ve encountered.”

“That in itself means we are in a great position to continue to increase our presence in the education sector.”

Mr Tanzer’s previous experience also includes working with the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs where he was responsible for the national higher education statistics collections and support services.  He was also the Director of the Higher Education Users Group Inc (HEUG), an incorporated, international, non-profit, self-funding organisation for seven years.

Adrian Di Marco, Executive Chairman of TechnologyOne, said that Mr Tanzer’s experience within the Higher Education sector made him the ideal candidate for the position of General Manager – Student Management at TechnologyOne.

“Steve has a comprehensive understanding of the broad issues the Higher Education sector faces and their specific software requirements.  His knowledge and previous experiences will continue to drive our success in this market.”
