TechnologyOne appoints education specialist Solutions Manager

TechnologyOne (ASX: TNE), a leading enterprise software solutions provider, has appointed Wayne Oswin as its new Solutions Manager for the Higher Education sector.

Dr Oswin's role will see him drive forward the development of the company's proven practice enterprise software solution designed to specifically address the unique needs of the tertiary and vocational education sectors.

Dr Oswin has more than 20 years' experience in the education software industry, 10 years of which were spent leading the development and deployment of a number of key web-based information management systems at QUT.

Dr Oswin was part of the management team responsible for launching and rolling out the Queensland University of Technology's (QUT) multi-million dollar Student Management System, a program, which TechnologyOne was also involved in and resulted in improved quality and accessibility of the University's online administration services.

TechnologyOne counts more than 50 education service providers as customers including leading public and private universities, TAFEs and Polytechnics.

Dr Oswin said he joined TechnologyOne because of its strong national and international reputation and commitment to innovation.

"TechnologyOne is a growing publicly listed company with an outstanding reputation as an international leader, so the opportunity to join the company appealed," Dr Oswin said.

"This new position will enable me to use the experience and knowledge from previous roles to continually refine exciting and innovative solutions that will have a real impact on the way the education sector does business."

TechnologyOne Executive Chairman, Adrian Di Marco, said Wayne Oswin's previous experience and market knowledge made him an ideal choice to join the TechnologyOne solutions group.

"Wayne has a vast amount of experience building solutions to meet the unique requirements of the education industry.  His technical knowledge of the sector and ability to understand industry drivers made him the obvious choice for this position," said Mr Di Marco.

Mr Oswin will work closely with the research and development, service delivery, and sales and marketing teams to ensure the company continues to deliver solutions and services tailored to the higher education sector.

The appointment follows the establishment of a TechnologyOne Solutions Group in 2010, designed to support key sectors by offering best in class enterprise solutions for organisations across a range of industries.

"We have a team of specialist Solutions Managers for the Local Government, Health & Community Services, Higher Education, State, Federal and Central Government, Managed and Financial Services and Utilities sectors, to help customers solve more problems and meet their changing requirements," Mr Di Marco said.

"We are confident Wayne will make a strong contribution to our senior management team.   His in-depth knowledge of the markets will stand the organisation in good stead to deliver outstanding solutions and services to our education customers.
