TechnologyOne announces evolutionary product strategy at client conference

New Federated Product Model To Drive Business Software Development

Technology One Limited (ASX:TNE), the leading provider of enterprise business solutions, has announced an evolutionary new strategy committed to making each of its product the ‘best-in-class’ in terms of functionality and service levels.  

Speaking at TechnologyOne Evolve 2007, the company’s major client conference, held last week on the Gold Coast, Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco announced a number of initiatives to make this goal a reality, including the creation of a new federated product model for the company. 

TechnologyOne is realigning its business around a federated model, which will see the creation of individual business units for each product line that will be led by a general manager.  Each business unit will incorporate its own integrated research and development, product specialists, marketing, sales, implementation and support teams with the goal of achieving market leadership in functionality and service for each product.  Integral to this approach will be the formation of customer user groups that will provide crucial input to the research and development efforts for each product.   

Announcing the new federated product model in his keynote address, Mr Di Marco said, “This initiative is a direct response to our customers’ needs. Software companies and their customers have swung between best of breed and integrated solutions for years and the outcome is that neither model is perfect. TechnologyOne has embraced the best of both worlds by providing an integrated solution, however our federated product model will ensure that these integrated solutions are also best in class.”

“The company has been a longstanding pioneer in providing ‘out of the box’ functionality in its software and remains dedicated to the model of one source code.  “This approach is critical to ensuring our customers have a simple upgrade path and are able to keep pace with the accelerating rate of technological change . Organisations that can keep up with this change will be best placed to adapt to other market changes and maintain a competitive business advantage,” said Di Marco.
