Tech powerhouse increases dominance of university sector, signing Solomon Islands National University
Leading enterprise software company TechnologyOne has signed a new partnership with the Solomon Islands National University (SINU), enabling the university to transform its student experience.
SINU opened the opportunity to implement a new student system to tender, and selected TechnologyOne as it best aligned with the university’s strategic and operational objectives.
“Our aim is to have greater collaboration and work as strategic partners with TechnologyOne. Signing up for a new system was as much about the partnership and longer term relationship, as it was with the immediate functionality for our students,” SINU Vice-Chancellor Dr Glynn Galo said.
“We were confident that with TechnologyOne’s extensive experience in the higher education sector, it was the best vendor to partner with.”
TechnologyOne’s Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said this partnership highlighted TechnologyOne’s position as the enterprise software provider of choice for universities.
“TechnologyOne has 28 years of experience of delivering proven software solutions for Universities and TAFEs,” Mr Di Marco said.
The university rolled out TechnologyOne’s Student Management solution across its business and to its 4,000 students on 22 June, enabling students to register and pay their course fees online.
“The previous system did not have the broad functional capabilities required to enable SINU to provide an effective student experience. Support for the legacy system was also very difficult to obtain because of the significant time zone difference,” Dr Galo said.
“The new SINU Student Management System is a central repository of Student and Curriculum information supporting extensive student services efficiently and providing more accurate and timely reporting. As we roll out more functionality, our students will benefit from a superior level of self-service, greater transparency and real time visibility.”
Mr Di Marco added: “Education is one of the key markets in which we operate, and we continue to dominate this sector in the Asia Pacific region. Through our deep understanding of the industry, we’re able to deliver solutions that meet the specific requirements of the higher education sector.
“We are delighted to be working with SINU to transform their student experience. As one of the only software providers with a local presence in the South Pacific, our world class solution will assist the university in remaining innovative, relevant, high quality and accessible to students,” he said.
