North Shore City Council choose ONE financial management solution

North Shore City Council, New Zealand’s fourth largest council, has chosen Technology One’s integrated financial management, project management and job costing solution to replace their legacy system.

Chief Financial Officer Roger Duncan said the Council under took a comprehensive tender process, and Technology One’s solution came out on top.

“Technology One delivers a one-stop shop solution – they develop, implement and support their own solutions which gives us confidence in strength of a long term relationship,” Mr Duncan said.

“The company is also committed to ongoing R&D in its products and future proofing its technology,” he said.

North Shore City Council will implement Technology One’s Connected Intelligence version of its financial management solution.

“We were very impressed with the look and feel of this solution, it’s a windows based solution which means it is user friendly and will have a familiar feel to staff,” Mr Duncan continued.

“One of the key benefits of this technology is the ability for us to implement electronic purchasing to all staff throughout the Council, allowing us to streamline our purchasing activities and to provide electronic access to more information across the organisation, through, for example, the scanning of invoices directly into the system.

“Another key benefit of Technology One’s software is the reporting solutions. XLOne allows staff to use the functionality of Microsoft’s Excel with full drill down functionality all the way through to the original invoice.

“By improving our electronic processes for reporting and purchasing, North Shore City Council will be able to provide more sophisticated and detailed data to appropriate staff, and reduce data entry and manual processing.”

Technology One Country Manager Don Glenn said this was a significant deal for Technology One, which is now one of the major providers of local government solutions in New Zealand.

“Technology One has a strong, proven track record in delivering business solutions to the local government sector, with more than 80 councils in Australasia using our local government solutions, including 11 in New Zealand,” Mr Glenn said.

“North Shore City Council is one of New Zealand’s largest and most progressive Councils, and their confidence in our solutions highlights our strengths in this market.”
