SaaS implementation saves Victoria University millions

07-03-2019

Victoria University is set to transform its student experience by implementing a new student system for its vocational education (TAFE) division, VU Polytechnic. TechnologyOne’s Student Management software was chosen as a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, through a 12-month implementation project that came in on time and on budget.

Victoria University implemented the Student Management SaaS solution for its Polytechnic students to improve compliance reporting, reduce costs and enhance the student experience.

The dual sector University inked the seven-year SaaS deal in 2018 for its Polytechnic, extending its existing 20-year relationship with TechnologyOne.

VU Vice President of Engagement and Resources, Professor Richard Constantine, said the deal signified its confidence in TechnologyOne’s products and strategic direction.

“It’s personally satisfying supporting an Australian organisation that has a world class software solution,” said Professor Constantine.

“The implementation will net us millions of dollars in claimable revenue per annum. By more accurately managing and reporting student information, we can now focus on operational success.

“We're using TechnologyOne’s software to make us quicker and more nimble, and to automate and standardise parts of VU Polytechnic’s student management processes,” Professor Constantine added.

“The SaaS platform provides scalability and flexibility, giving us a commercially viable platform that will take us into the future.”

TechnologyOne’s Chief Operating Officer, Stuart MacDonald, said the successful implementation builds on the vendor’s recent momentum in the sector, signing new Student Management SaaS deals with New South Wales’ Macquarie University, Western Australia’s Curtin University and South Australia’s Flinders University.

“TechnologyOne's enterprise software provides a single platform to streamline administration, ensure profitability and manage the entire student lifecycle,” MacDonald said.

“Our software is intuitive and user friendly, embracing consumer concepts and new technologies such as artificial intelligence, to provide an experience that today’s millennial students have come to expect.

“With our industry preconfigured approach, educational institutions can accelerate implementation to ensure go live projects remain on time and on budget,” MacDonald added.
